The aim of the Venice 2012 Symposium is to focus on the advances made in the application of technologies for energy recovery from biomass and waste and to encourage discussion in these fields.

Born in the wake of the successful and well-established experience of the “Sardinia International Symposia on Waste Management and Landfill”, which are ranked at the top of the lists of international events in the sector throughout the world and register an average participation of 1000 delegates, the more recent Venice Symposia have been taking place every two years since 2006 and have now, in 2012, reached their fourth edition.

The Fourth edition of the Venice International Symposia on Energy from Biomass and Waste will take place from 12-15 November, in Venice, Italy.

The event is organized by the International Waste Working Group (IWWG) with the scientific support of the Universities of Dresden (DE), Hokkaido (JP), Padua (IT), Rostock (DE), Singapore (SG) and Trento (IT).

Deadline for Receipt of Abstracts: 29 February 2012

As per tradition, the Symposium will last four days (three days of scientific sessions and one day for technical tours) and will include oral sessions, a poster session, an exhibition by companies working in the field and technical tours.

The official language of the Symposium will be English. In addition, the Symposium will arrange a session to be held entirely in Italian, in order to facilitate the participation of local delegates.

Authors wishing to submit a contribution should read the call for abstracts availableon the official Symposium website  and send an abstract using the online form by 29 February 2012.
